Description

Join Kristen in this hands on, muddy and fun workshop to make your own Kokedama with beautiful, green, living moss.

Kokedama are balls of string and moss-covered soil from which a plant grows, creating perfect indoor gardens. Kristen has a penchant for the Japanese kokedama and will be teaching you how the kokedama comes together, as well as how to care for your own that you’ll be making. The workshop comprehensively guides your creativity when making your first kokedama, so that you will feel confident in being able to fill your home with more.

Kristen will provide a selection of small ferns for you to choose for your kokedama, as well as all other materials you’ll need in the workshop. Kokedama can be hung, or placed on a small dish or bowl, and are very easy to look after. They are the ultimate small-space garden, so if you love a bit of life but lack the space then this one’s for you!

This workshop will be socially distanced with a maximum of 12 participants. Participants are welcome to bring any additional hygiene measures they like. Hand washing and sanitising facilities are available at the venue.

Please note, the number of tickets that you can choose from to purchase reflects the number of total tickets still available, if you cannot select multiple tickets it means there is only 1 ticket/space left in this workshop.

Suitable for adults and children aged 10 and up. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult (both must purchase a ticket). The workshop will be taught at the adult level.

DISCOUNTS  $5 discount applies for children, students, seniors and concession card holders.  Use code CONCESSION at checkout. You may be asked to provide proof of concession at sign in on the day.

15 November 2020 • Live Moss Kokedama (Moss Balls) with Kristen

Spent a pleasant Sunday morning learning this wonderful Japanese gardening craft in the perfect surroundings of the Botanical Gardens. Kristen is very knowledgeable about this craft for someone so young and a wonderful teacher. If you are interested in displaying potted plants differently, don't mind getting a bit dirty and at times feeling all thumbs, I highly recommend this course.
