Description

Learn to carve rubber stamps and use your stamp to design your own fabric with Brisbane-based printmaker Kay Watanabe.

Kay will teach participants how to design and carve their own rubber stamps and create a repeated pattern on fabrics using either stamp pads or fabric ink.

Students will learn how to create a rubber stamp that will form a quarter or half of their motif. Students will then carve their stamp and print onto their fabric using their new stamp in a repeated pattern.

Participants will be printing onto a 50cm by 50cm piece of fabric.

All materials provided including fabric, inks and use of tools for the day.

Suitable for adults.

22 September 2016 • Fabric Design-Repeat Pattern Stamps with Kay 11/2

The teacher was well prepared, and gave clear instructions. It was fun choosing a design, cutting it out and watching how it looked when it was printed on the fabric. It was only a small group so Kay had time to talk to each of us and guide us if we needed it.
